Does a film clip from the 1928 Charlie Chaplin movie “Circus” reveal that time travel is possible?
That question begs to be asked after watching the clip released by Belfast filmmaker George Clarke.
Clarke, a big Charlie Chaplin fan was viewing extra footage from a Charlie Chaplin box DVD set when he came across the curious scene. He screened the footage to more than a hundred people over the last year and most saw the same thing that he did, what appears to be a woman talking on a cell phone. This, in a movie filmed over eighty years ago, obviously before cell phone technology was available.
Clarke enhanced the film clip and released it to Youtube where it has received more than 1.5 million views. Mr. Clarke says he sees a man “in drag” holding and speaking into what looks like a cell phone. The “time traveler then looks into the camera.
